About Teletherapy
Studies have shown encouraging therapeutic results from teletherapy before COVID; A 2010 study showed that CBT treatment via teletherapy may be equally effective as in-office sessions. A 2013 study showed it to be comparable to in-person care and is effective for diagnosis and assessment across many populations and various settings.
Teletherapy enables clients to be deliberate about finding therapists most suitable for them as long as they are licensed in their state. One no longer needs to live within driving distance of their therapist. Ultimately, while vaccinations and immunity allow for increased in-person sessions, teletherapy is a forum I will continue to use as a regular part of my practice.
